Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has announced a significant acceleration of analytical work by the Defense Forces thanks to the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies. According to the ministry, AI already saves analysts up to 90% of their time at the stage of detecting signs of enemy presence in photos and videos.

As the ministry notes, artificial intelligence independently analyzes visual data and identifies enemy positions and equipment, significantly speeding up the processing of intelligence information. This, in turn, increases the effectiveness of target engagement and enables the Defense Forces to respond to threats more quickly.

The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that artificial intelligence is becoming one of the key factors providing a technological advantage over the enemy. At the same time, Ukraine adheres to the human-in-the-loop principle — the final decision to engage a target always remains with a human. The technology only helps identify a target and speeds up its assessment, without replacing humans in decision-making.

It was separately stressed that the use of AI accelerates the entire so-called kill chain — the sequence of engaging an enemy target, which covers all stages: from detecting an object to assessing the results of a strike.

The Ministry of Defense notes that the integration of artificial intelligence into the Defense Forces is systemic in nature and is part of a broader strategy to increase the effectiveness of Ukrainian troops in countering aggression.
