Impulse is a 10-inch FPV drone that hunts enemy reconnaissance UAVs — but without ramming them. It can return from a mission and fly again.
In interception, finding a small target in a vast sky is harder than destroying it. That is why the drone carries an onboard direction finder covering the 2.4 GHz band. It picks up signals from drones such as the DJI Mavic and Matrice, ground control stations, and electronic warfare systems. The operator sees the bearing to the source on a display and estimates the distance from the signal strength. When the drone closes to within 30–50 metres, the target is identified visually through a Full HD digital camera.
Impulse carries a proprietary recoilless device that fires steel fragmentation charges in 21 or 25 mm calibre. The ammunition load consists of two shots, and the charges can be selected to suit the target type. The weapon can be fired manually at ranges of up to 10 m. If the drone closes to approximately 8 m from the target, a lidar locks onto it and the shot is fired automatically.
The system has been operating on the line of contact with National Guard and Armed Forces of Ukraine units since October 2025. Crews praise the direction finder for rapid target acquisition, as well as the ease of operation and effectiveness against reconnaissance drones.
