Since the beginning of 2026, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has codified and approved for use in the Defense Forces 413 unmanned aerial complexes. Nearly all of them are domestically produced, the ministry reported on July 13.

This is 30% more than in the same period of 2025, and more than 73% more than in the same period of 2024. During this time, 391 codified UAV complexes appeared in the Defense Forces — the largest category among all 1,184 new weapons and equipment samples approved for operation since the beginning of the year.

The list of UAV complexes codified since the beginning of the year covers virtually the entire spectrum of modern unmanned aviation used at the front:

  • aerial reconnaissance platforms of aerostat, fixed-wing, and multirotor types;
  • strike drones of fixed-wing and multirotor types;
  • FPV platforms;
  • UAV bombers;
  • interceptor drones;
  • relay drones;
  • target drones;
  • fiber-optic UAV complexes;
  • strike drones of the front-strike and deep-strike classes.

The largest share among the codified systems consists of multirotor strike drones and fiber-optic-guided complexes. The number of front-strike drones — platforms designed to engage targets at close and operational depth — has also grown noticeably.

It is worth noting that codification opens the door for manufacturers to officially supply equipment to the Defense Forces, and gives the military access to new models through regulated procurement procedures.
