The modern battlefield is no longer determined only by firepower. Now the one who controls the airwaves dominates here. In this context, electronic warfare (EW) systems play an increasingly important role, since they rapidly develop and become an indispensable element of modern defense.

Flexibility and modularity. One of the trends is the creation of universal modules that can be quickly integrated onto various carriers: from mobile shelters to passenger cars. Such flexibility is especially valuable in conditions of the constant change of the combat situation. By the way, our company BlueBird is already now developing systems that easily adapt to concrete tasks: the protection of positions in trenches, the accompaniment of columns, the guarding of military bases, and so on.

Artificial intelligence. The next stage of evolution is the integration of artificial intelligence for the analysis of the radio airwaves in real-time mode. In a few years, such systems will be able to independently detect threat signals, classify them by source and purpose, as well as determine the most effective tactic of suppression. This will reduce the reaction time to a minimum and increase the precision of actions.

Miniaturization and energy efficiency. With each year, EW systems become not only more powerful but also more compact. Such a tendency is conditioned by the need to install equipment where there is little space and one needs to act quickly. At the same time, it is important that the reduction of sizes does not lower effectiveness. That is precisely why engineers increasingly concentrate on the optimization of energy consumption.

Integration into the overall defense system. One of the main directions of development is becoming the integration of EW systems with other components of defense (reconnaissance, means of observation, and so on). Such an approach makes it possible to create a single network of interaction, where all elements work coordinatedly and reinforce one another. By the way, BlueBird systems are capable of effectively interacting with adjacent systems.

Adaptivity to difficult conditions. EW systems must work stably even in the most extreme situations. That is precisely why new developments concentrate on the protection of the casing, resilience to external impacts, and the ability to automatically adjust to changes in the electromagnetic environment. It is worth noting that our EWs work in frost and heat, and also have protection from dust and moisture (IP54).

EW systems of the future are not just equipment that jams enemy signals. These are smart, flexible, and reliable solutions that are capable of changing the course of combat operations.
