To mark the 35th anniversary of Ukrainian Independence, the Jeep automotive brand and aircraft manufacturer JSC ‘ANTONOV’ have announced a joint project — the creation of a one-of-a-kind Jeep Wrangler called ‘AN-J001’
As reported, the AN-J001 will be based on a production Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Over the coming months, the Jeep team will work on altering the vehicle’s exterior and certain elements, while ANTONOV specialists will contribute to developing details inspired by Ukrainian aviation aesthetics. The parties have not yet disclosed specific design details, promising to gradually share progress updates.
The vehicle will be produced as a single unit. The project name is symbolic: AN is a reference to the aircraft and engineering heritage of JSC ‘ANTONOV’, J stands for the Jeep family, and 001 denotes its status as the first and only vehicle in this series.
Ruslan Akimov, Director of Stellantis Ukraine (the representative office of the automotive group that represents the Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, DS Automobiles, and Jeep brands), called the project an opportunity to unite an international brand with Ukraine’s unique aviation heritage and part of the company’s long-term presence in Ukraine. Stellantis Ukraine Marketing Director Alina Kosa emphasized that both brands share the idea of pushing beyond the boundaries of what is possible — something that, in her words, Ukraine demonstrates every day.
