Servicemembers of the 123rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade reported on July 13 a unique combat operation in the Kinburn direction. A ground robotic complex was delivered to the enemy shore by an unmanned maritime platform for the first time in the world, carried out a landing on occupied territory, and was used to accomplish a combat mission.
It is known that the operation was conducted under the command of 123rd TDF OBr commander Colonel Oleh Makukha and with the direct organization of the commander of the brigade’s 1st Unmanned Systems Battalion, Major Denys Hipik.
According to published data, an unmanned maritime raft delivered the ground robotic complex to the shore, after which the complex drove onto the bank and attacked a Russian facility — as seen in footage released by the brigade.
The 123rd TDF OBr described the mission as the first known combat operation of this format in the world.
Kinburn Spit is a sandy spit on the northwestern part of the eponymous peninsula, partially separating the Black Sea from the Dnipro-Buh Estuary. Russian forces seized the territory back in March 2022, turning it into a bridgehead for shelling southern Ukrainian regions. From this territory, the enemy can observe the waters of the Dnipro-Buh Estuary, control approaches to the ports of Mykolaiv and Ochakiv, and pose a threat to shipping and coastal settlements.
The spit remains occupied, although Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration head Vitaliy Kim has repeatedly stated that the liberation of the territory is a matter of time.
According to the Ministry of Defense, since June 2026 Ukrainian robotic complexes have completed more than 16,600 logistics and evacuation missions and are now scaling that experience to combat tasks.
